Ahrefs has launched a free SEO tool that offers SEO and site diagnostic data. It is called Ahrefs Webmaster Tools. I took the tools a test drive and have to say I'm very impressed with the usefulness and on-page and off-page SEO data. What it is: It's a tool that only provides on-page and off-page SEO data for a verified site. Privacy issues Some people started asking about possible Banner Design privacy issues and whether Ahrefs would seek to use customer data. So I asked Ahrefs about it. 1. GSC verification is just for verification? Yes. GSC verification was released a few weeks Banner Design ago and it is a very convenient method to verify the website without adding DNS records or uploading files. 2.
Does Ahrefs currently use data from free accounts? No. 3. If Ahrefs decided to use the data, would they anonymize it? The use of anonymized data is Banner Design only an idea. We plan to use anonymized data… and only look at keywords, position, impressions and ctr. This is just an idea and we haven't tried it yet. GSC data is a poor quality source, as it counts bot traffic, as does any traffic estimate provided by Google. That's why we say "we could use". 4. If Ahref Banner Design decided to use the data anonymously, would they ask permission first or send a notice in an updated privacy statement? We are always compliant with all regulations and transparent with our users, especially when it comes to ethics. Dmitry Gerasimenko, founder and CEO of Ahrefs, tweeted Banner Design the following statement: “Currently we do not use any data from GSC outside of the website listing for ownership verification. "
Could" means we'll explore whether aggregated data can help us build better models, but we're not doing that right now. So that might sound weak, but that's the Banner Design best way to describe the state of things. » Introducing Ahrefs Webmaster Tools Ahrefs webmaster tools are refreshingly easy to use. Navigation is intuitive with data pretty much exactly where you expect it to be. Data is apparently no more than one to two clicks away. Liberal use of tooltips Banner Design contributes to a smooth user experience. At any point you might wonder what it's all about, there's an unobtrusive gray question mark icon which, when clicked, provides the necessary explanation.
